8th Grade Promotion is held in June for students meeting requirements for promotion to the high school.
The following minimum requirements must be met by 8th Grade Students in order to participate in promotion events and activities:

In addition, students must clear all outstanding obligations (i.e. turn in textbooks, library books, chromebooks, lunch monies, etc.) Students may be excluded from promotion events and related activities at the principal's discretion. This can occur for many reasons including the existence of excessive truancies, absences, tardies, or discipline referrals. Students that have been administratively transferred from another school, or who have not attained a 1.5 GPA for eighth grade, may also be excluded.
Formal/ballroom attire and the use of limos are not appropriate for eighth grade promotion. Corporate attire is encouraged, and school dress code rules apply to promotion apparel. Special activities, including a dance and a promotion ceremony, are planned, but is a privilege to participate that is earned, not expected. Students must maintain high standards of academics, citizenship, and attendance in order to participate.
